The restaurant industry has been particularly hard-hit by the pandemic. Sensitive to the consequences on Quebecers, including restaurateurs and their customers and partners, the Société des alcools du Québec (SAQ) is adopting a series of measures to contribute to the collective effort and help those in need.

It has therefore deployed a new procedure to facilitate product returns and has made payment terms for licensees more flexible. In addition, it is leveraging its various platforms to promote the take-out or delivery order services offered by certain establishments.

In addition to a $1 million donation to the network of Food Banks of Quebec in March, the SAQ continues to encourage initiatives that aim to support Quebecers in precarious situations. The SAQ pledged $50,000 on April 16th to La Tablée des Chefs, in support of their “Solidarity Kitchens” project. The objective is to mobilize Quebecois chefs and restaurateurs to create an emergency inventory of approximately 1.6 million meals that will be stored and distributed by the Food Banks of Quebec to customers who need prepared meals and not just foodstuffs.
